SESSION INITIATION PROTOCOL (SIP)

Telecommunications are a key component of “unified communications”. While integral to the smooth running of operations and allowing your business to be fully connected at all times, Telecoms no longer require a phone line. Enter SIP.

We provide business telephone lines, from single lines to multi-site installation, we have a range of solutions to suit your individual requirements. IP Direct, Local Loop Unbundling and SIP Trunks are just a few of the solutions we provide to maximise your communications.

Silver Lining are able to assist with your planned migration from ISDN. In addition we have a dedicated IP connection from our highly secure core data centres, complete with SLA to ensure you never miss a call even if your office is compromised.

What is SIP?

SIP is short for Session Initiation Protocol, a telephony signalling protocol for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls. SIP is responsible for connecting, monitoring and disconnecting VoIP sessions, and even instant messaging (IM) uses a modified version of SIP.

SIP can establish real-time sessions such as online gaming, teleconferencing and video conferencing. It also enables your Internet Service Provider to integrate things like web, email and online chat with basic IP phone capabilities.
