Silver Lining's Apprentice - you're hired
They say every cloud has a silver lining and that's certainly true for Harry Fisher. The 17 year old from Drayton has just started a paid apprenticeship with our support team and is looking forward to a bright future in the IT industry.
After expressing an interest in IT, We arranged a traineeship for Harry through Highbury College who enrolled him on courses alongside his placement with us to improve his employability and functional skills.
Harry impressed his us so much during his six-month traineeship that he has now been accepted onto an apprenticeship programme. Harry says, "I'm really enjoying the work that I do, and my colleagues are great. I had a lot of help at Highbury with getting my CV together and preparing for the workplace. I wouldn't be here now without their support." We are hoping that Harry progresses within the company and takes on more and more challenging workloads.
Allan Packer, Managing Director at Silver Lining says "Harry Fisher is a real asset to the team. He is one of two apprentices working here and we believe they are a real investment. We will be looking to employ another apprentice before the end of the year. An apprenticeship is a real job with training. Apprentices receive a wage and follow a structured programme that leads to a recognised qualification."
It’s been such a great success that we will be looking to employ an additional apprentice in January 2015.
