Silver Lining wins Award for PCI Excellence two years running

Another year, another PCI Excellence Awards - and we’re thrilled to announce that Silver Lining have won a prestigious Award for PCI Excellence for the second year running! Last year we were recognised for our work with Autonet Insurance Group, and this year our work with another of the UK’s leading insurance brokers has earned us a second commendation. On Thursday January 25th, we once again headed to Park Plaza Victoria in London for a glamorous night of dinner, drinks and due distinction.

The awards themselves took place in the evening, however during the day we attended the 16th PCI London conference, the UK’s biggest payment security summit. The big talking point at this year’s event was the imminent arrival of the GDPR, the biggest shake-up of UK and European data privacy laws since the Data Protection Act. Cybersecurity and alternate methods of payment authentication like biometrics were also hot topics. Silver Lining took our stand to exhibit at the event, showing off our cutting-edge PCI SIP solution. We even brought a loosely card-security-themed game to the stand, which we might just upload to our website for you to have a crack at.

As for the award, we previously earned the Award for PCI Excellence in 2017 for our work with Autonet Insurance Group. We provided them with a PCI-DSS compliance solution to secure card data in payments over the phone. With over 700 employees, this was no simple task for Autonet, but we implemented our solution with minimum fuss and provided adequate training to centre staff.

This year, we returned to one of the UK’s leading insurance brokers (anonymous for privacy reasons), who we’ve worked with for a number of years. They have been satisfactorily using our PCI compliance solution for quite some time, however they recently faced a new challenge in migrating their telephone lines to SIP while retaining full compliance - a challenge which we rose to meet. Having migrated these lines, our aim is to also migrate their PCI compliance solution to the cloud in the form of our cutting-edge PCI SIP service, which has been in development and gaining traction over the past two years.

PCI SIP is primed to shake up the world of card data security by massively reducing the complexity and cost of achieving PCI-DSS compliance, allowing smaller businesses for whom this technology has traditionally been far too costly to become compliant with minimum hassle. With this solution imminently rolling out, perhaps we’ll be back at Park Plaza this time next year to receive our third award for PCI excellence!
